Shark Valley 2009-2011

2009 was the last year when I got in a lot of biking at Shark Valley. At the end of the year we bought a house and the following year my daughter was born. After that we only got in two more trips before we moved. Looking back at these pictures I really want to get another trip in. Maybe during next year's visit.

I remember one day, in the winter of 2008-2009 I went out there alone in the morning and the plan was to do three rounds. I did the first one in just 30 minutes so I was feeling pretty good. Then there was the ride back. Now I realized why I had done it in just 30 minutes. The wind was so bad it took me almost an hour an a half to get back. I was standing up and fighting just to keep the bike moving. After just one lap I had to quit, go home, and take a nice hot shower. My face had wind burn for the rest of the day.

This Egret caught himself a snake. One of three birds I had seen flying around carrying a snake.

January 2011. Adriana has no fear of alligators. She was exposed to them when she was small and she likes them.

Christmas Day 2011

On Christmas Day in 2011 we had nothing to do. Natalie's family celebrated the night before, that's typical for hispanics. Our neighbors were in the same boat. So what better to do than take Adri for a ride at Shark Valley in her knew bike trailer we bought her. I think that is the only time we got to use it and she wasn't a big fan. She did a lot of crying everytime we stopped. She did however like looking at the alligators and birds. Afterwards we went to "The Pit" for dinner.
